Current Project Information

The following capital improvement, bridge and maintenance projects are scheduled to be done in 2016. Completion of all projects is contingent on the availability of funds as appropriated by the Yates County Legislature and the current pricing of all necessary materials including oil & asphalt based materials needed to complete the projects.

CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS

CR#1s,Lakemont-Himrod Rd. (.85 mi.): CR#1s between Dundee Himrod Rd. and Plum Point  Rd. will undergo major capital improvements in the spring/summer of 2016 that will consist of milling the existing pavement down 3" by outside contract and installing a total of 5.5" of new hot mix asphalt binder and wearing courses also to be done by outside contract. Recycled millings from the project will be used to install shoulders and lane striping will be completed by the Tri-County striping truck owned by Yates, Schuyler and Steuben counties.

CR#39 East Lake Rd. (2.91 mi.): CR#39 will undergo major capital improvement work in the spring/summer of 2016 that will consist of the same work and procedures as listed above for CR#1s. The work will take place between Vine Valley Road and the Ontario County Line.

CR#30 Second Milo Rd. (.63 mi.): CR#30 between Bath Rd and State Route 54 will undergo major capital improvement work in the spring/summer of 2016 that will consist of milling the existing pavement down 3" by outside contract and installing a total of 3.5" of new hot mix asphalt binder and wearing courses also to be done by outside contract. Recycled millings from the project will be used to install shoulders and lane striping will be completed by the Tri-County striping truck owned by Yates, Schuyler and Steuben counties.

CR#32 Italy Hill Rd. (4.70 mi.): CR#32 between Darbys Corners Road and the Steuben County Line will undergo major capital improvement work in the spring/summer of 2016 that will consist of milling the existing pavement down 2" by outside contract and installing a total of 3.5" of new hot mix asphalt binder and wearing courses also to be done by outside contract. Recycled millings from the project will be used to install shoulders and lane striping will be completed by the Tri-County striping truck owned by Yates, Schuyler and Steuben counties.

CR#44 Dundee Glenora Rd. (2.99 mi.): CR#44 between State Route 14 and the Dundee Village Line will undergo major capital improvement work in the spring/summer of 2016 that will consist of milling the existing pavement down 2" by outside contract and installing a total of 3.5" of new hot mix asphalt binder and wearing courses also to be done by outside contract. Recycled millings from the project will be used to install shoulders and lane striping will be completed by the Tri-County striping truck owned by Yates, Schuyler and Steuben .

Note: Completion of all of the above Capital Improvement projects is dependent upon hot mix paving/asphalt bid prices and available funding.

BRIDGES & CULVERTS

Vine Valley Rd bridge in the Town of Middlesex will be replaced during the summer of 2016. This is a Federal Aid bridge project in which Yates County will pay approximately 5% of the total cost (80% Federal and 15% State reimbursements). When construction begins, Vine Valley Rd. will be closed between South Vine Valley Rd. and Robeson Rd.

MAINTENANCE PROJECTS

Crack sealing and surface treating (oil & stone) will start in June 2016 on numerous roads. Other minor road and bridge maintenance projects will also be in progress throughout the construction season in various parts of the county that may result in some minor, localized delays and detours.
