Current Project Information

The following capital improvement, bridge and maintenance projects are scheduled to be done in 2017. Completion of all projects is contingent on the availability of funds as appropriated by the Yates County Legislature and the current pricing of all necessary materials including oil & asphalt based materials needed to complete the projects. Expect delays and travel will be limited to one lane through the work zones. Alternate routes are suggested if you wish to avoid delays

CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS

CR#17, Bath Rd. (7.2 mi.): The project will consist of milling off 3'' of existing pavement and placing 5.5" of new hot mix asphalt binder and top courses. The work will take place between Sisson Rd. and the Schuyler Co. line. Recycled millings from the project will be used to install shoulders and lane striping will be completed by the Tri-County striping truck owned by Yates, Schuyler and Steuben counties

CR#13, Six Corners Rd. (2.9 mi.): The project will consist of milling off 2'' of existing pavement and placing 3.5" of new hot mix asphalt binder and top courses. The work will take place between Pre-Emption Rd. and the Schuyler Co. line. Recycled millings from the project will be used to install shoulders and lane striping will be completed by the Tri-County striping truck owned by Yates, Schuyler and Steuben counties

CR#1s, Lakemont-Himrod Rd. (0.7 mi.): The project will consist of milling off 3'' of existing pavement and placing 5.5" of new hot mix asphalt binder and top courses. The work will take place between Dundee-Starkey Rd. and Dundee-Lakemont Rd. Recycled millings from the project will be used to install shoulders and lane striping will be completed by the Tri-County striping truck owned by Yates, Schuyler and Steuben counties.

CR#7, 26 & 28 (Flynn, City Hill & Leach)  Crews will be working on these roads replacing culverts, cleaning ditches, etc. throughout 2017 in preparation for milling & paving on t heese roads in 2018

 

MAINTENANCE PROJECTS

Crack sealing and surface treating (oil & stone) will start in May and June 2017 on numerous roads. Roads to be surface treated are: Himrod, Dundee-Himrod, Earls Hill, Bellona Station, Pre-Emption, Plum Point, Dundee-Starkey and Dundee-Lakemont. Other minor road and bridge maintenance projects will also be in progress throughout the construction season in various parts of the county that may result in some minor, localized delays and detours.

 

BRIDGES & CULVERTS

Alexander Rd. bridge in the Town of Benton will have the superstructure replaced during the summer of 2017. Valley View Rd. bridge in the Town of Middlesex will also undergo a superstructure replacement.
